CONTRIBUTIONS TO PROJECT
Utilisation of photobioreactors to recycle carbon dioxide from flue gas resources into valuable algae biomass. Capture and recycling of CO2 is achieved via photosynthesis. The challenge is therefore to design a production system that is efficient and that will ensure the sustainability of the production.
Utilisation of the bio-refinery wastewater for algae production.
Simulation of the utilisation of by-product heat from the power plant in the biorefinery process.
EXPERIENCE AND FACILITIES
AlgoSource Technologies provides services in Conceptual Engineering and Process Development for Photosynthesis and Bio-refining of Microalgae as well as CO2 bio-valorisation. It brings expertise in microalgae project development.
AlgoSource Technologies is a sister company of the largest and oldest microalgae producing company in France, Alpha Biotech (www.alpha-biotech.fr), and of the largest marine bioprocess laboratory in France: The GEPEA (Process Engineering for Environment and Food): www.gepea.fr
Alpha Biotech has been producing and transforming microalgae since 1993. It operates raceway ponds and photobioreactors with experience in more than 15 microalgae strains. Both Alpha Biotech and the GEPEA are partners of the Shamash project that aims at producing biofuels from microalgae.
